What you should know about Holden Street TheatreS

Music Production in Adelaide, Theatre in Adelaide, Party in Adelaide

Fulltime and Casual positions and Internships will be offered in all areas and will be covering the Holden Street theaters Program in all three theaters and at events at Thebarton theater. Please ensure you put your name and the position you are inquiring about in the subject field. It’s the possibility of having a dream reach true that makes life interesting. While each role has distinct responsibilities, there will be a requirement throughout the duration of the lead up to, and the Fringe itself, that volunteers will help in other departments. Volunteers are welcome to continue their volunteering throughout the year.

The season was designed to launch directors and actors into the Adelaide Scene and promote their careers. Buying Tickets through Holden Street theaters means the fees go back to the venue to promote our shows and artists all year round. But the commission will only investigate cases that ended in death, the identities of the accused will be suppressed, and details of exactly what punishment the indicted will confront are. Pauline only has to hear his voice from the next room to be sure the stranger is one of her torturers. This, she tells her husband, is the beginning case in his inquiry. We will put the audience in the Jury room with us and present each patron a connection to one of the 12 Jurors, borne said. So they will be more involved than ordinary in this absorbing look inner the hearts of men who have a pensive duty to find the truth. Beth’s need to dig around in the past, remembering happier times, also brings out some things that should, perhaps, have superior been forgotten. Fiona Evans' telling tale of a lusty weekend between a cradle snatching teacher and her testosterone tipped teen lover in a lovelorn seaside hotel room is heart wrenching stuff. Almost like pieces of furniture, the audience shares a small bedroom with the two cast members. Emily Bradford and Sebastian Freeman thrust and parry, play and analyze through the emotional gamut and one realizes that one is so enmeshed in their predicament that one has become more flyonthewall than audience. Scarborough is a speedy and enraged immersion into the lives of a young couple with a secret as they discard a dirty weekend together at a quintessentially naff English hotel in the seaside town of Scarborough. Fiona Evans' funny, thought provoking and award winning play went down a storm at the Edinburgh Fringe, and looks set to do every bit as healthy here. Over the course of the weekend, through a series of vignettes, the tensions, power struggles and insecurities of Lauren (played by Emily Bradford) and Dan (played by Sebastian Freeman) are played out. However, the set could be any cheap hotel or motel room, anywhere. The direction and choreography is stiff in this kind of space, the actors busy difficult to seamlessly not bump or step into the audience as they dance, cuddle and struggle their way from scene to scene. Director Martha Lott has done a huge job to bring out the emotional tension in this piece. For the loaded nature of the relationship between the two characters (audiences may make their own judgments) the play pulls no angelic punches, leaving the audience to question for themselves. This is a piece which will depart you thinking, and whose emotional force will not exit you easily. Stand midst the peeling wallpaper and find somewhere to sit on the unlatching furniture whilst this couple appreciate their weekend away. Fiona Evans' tough, brief writing, brilliantly capturing the shifting emotions underlying the characters' relationship. There are lots of attractive girls around, but it doesn’t need a woman for life. He wants a wealthy woman and he will find one like that! Two theater performances in one evening for communities from Past Yugoslavia.

Is a healthy known brand of wireless headphones and we have had vast victory using this kit. The Studio is a dismal box theater with raked seating and the stage on the flat. The stage is front on with access to dressing rooms through two doors at either side of the stage along the back wall. The room is intimate yet has a very spacious feel. This can be increased with extra front rows however, the stage is reduced by approx one meter for every row. The 'Standard Rig' is in place throughout the year and available for firers to use or scheme for their own design. The Arch is an impaired church which houses a very intimate proscenium arch with a thrust stage. The dazzling stained glass windows are backbit and impaired for the house lights, along with halogens that make a feature of Beth lovely wooden ceiling. The auditorium has incredible acoustics and the venue has a charm that is unique. The Arch is a favorite and its character compliments any event. This increases to four performance spaces and two galleries through the Adelaide Fringe. We have gained local, national and international recognition as a venue that supports fresh collaborations, produces internationally viable labor and supports companies to prosper lofty caliber productions. Both buildings are heritage listed and boast lovely wooden ceilings and incredible acoustics. The original stained glass windows in The Arch are back lit which are worn in conjunction with halogen lights in the ceiling to accentuate the wood and to create ravishing house lights. The Studio offers a more contemporary feel with its black box style and can present a more versatile canvas for designers. Our equipment is more than competent of handling the needs of most theater, dance and musical productions including multiple shows through fringe. However, as many companies like to bring in their own equipment we are glad and qualified to accommodate this as well. We also hire out some items such as our Silent Disco set up. Our resident Technical Manager is on hand to encourage you in finding your way around our gear and for showing you where everything is. Your hire will include maintenance and replacement should anything go wrong. We are everlasting keen to amplify the opportunities for Holden Street to donate vast performances and we are eternal open to trying new spaces. In the previous we have housed site specific labor in caravans, gardens, shipping containers and turned the boardroom of our neighbors office into a wonderfully intimate space obvious as The Manse. We also have Thebarton theater and the spaces in that venue that can be impaired for performances.
