Who we are, what we do and how we promote and represent councils in South Australia. The Local Government Association (GA) of South Australia is a membership organization which provides quality service and leadership pertinent to the needs of member Councils. These include service recognition awards for those who have contributed more than 10 years to local government, the Joy Baruch Award which recognizes the contribution of women as elected members, and the Jim Crawford Award which is available to individuals or groups active in, or associated with public libraries. The Award is available to individuals or groups active in, or associated with, public libraries eligible for funding by the Libraries Board of South Australia. The beginning report became the blueprint for the establishment of all public libraries in South Australia, while the second supported the continued growth and development of these libraries.
