Twin brothers Alf and John Trim founded TRIMS before the Second World War. TRIMS originally sold reconditioned clothing and hired out most pieces of clothing, including formal wear, which remains a part of the business to this day. From the early beginnings, TRIMS started to grow and grow and whenever a shop next door became vacant TRIMS would purchase it and remove its walls. This has made shopping at TRIMS attractive, as shoppers not only want the best price but also friendly and helpful service. Being a family owned business became a strong component in the 1980's as large corporations began to buy out other retail stores, in order to make extensive profit, but forgot the importance of service and quality products. TRIMS are renowned for having the best prices all year round without gimmick sales on all of their quality merchandise. Gradually, Onitsuka Tiger, Hard Yakka and King Gee. These sit alongside well-known footwear brands such as Merrell, The North Face, Bonds, Mossimo, Industrie, Lee, Levi's, which had a strong Australian flavour and a very good reputation were brought in. Today TRIMS is home to many superior quality clothing brands such as R.M.Williams, the reconditioned clothing was phased out and brands, Crocs and Blundstone. (more).
