This consolidated service allows the timely and effective evaluation of vascular disease. Vascular surgeons are on hand to report on all ultrasounds. Patient Information What can we diagnose? Peter is an accredited vascular and endovascular surgeon and is a director and reporting surgeon at Adelaide Vascular. He is also a visiting specialist at considerable regional (Mt Barker, Stirling and Riverland Regional) hospitals. Peter’s areas of interest include endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, distal bypass grafting for limb salvage, carotid interventions (scenting and endarterectomy) and targeted carotid screening for stroke prevention. Peter is involved in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training at TQEH. He was elected to the Board of Vascular Surgery in 2009 which oversees the training of vascular surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. Born and bred in Adelaide, he has trained in Brisbane, Switzerland and the United States. Rob was responsible for setting up the first multidisciplinary diabetic foot unit in Adelaide, and holds many senior positions on the board of the College of Surgeons. She is an accredited medical sonographer and has been busy and studying in the ultrasound field since 1998. She is a member of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. Michelle began her scanning career in a private radiology practice in 1998. Michelle obtained her vascular experience in both private practice and at The Queen Elizabeth hospital where she held the position of Chief Sonographer. Maureen has been a sonographer since the mid1970s and has worked in both public and private practice. Earlier recently moving to the Riverland (Waikerie), Maureen was a lecturer and course coordinator in Medical Sonography for 14 years at the University of South Australia she is tranquil involved with the University as an assessor and marker, and as an adjunct research fellow. Her main interests in sonography are vascular sonography and musculoskeletal sonography. Tracey started her ultrasound career in 1995 at a private radiology practice and also currently works as a Sonographer at a private radiology practice. Cathy began her Ultrasound career in 1990 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she trained in vascular Sonography and has since worked as a Sonographer in both public and private sectors throughout metropolitan and rural locations. Cathy has an interest in ongoing education and research and is currently involved in the University of South Australia’s Medical Sonography program as an examiner.

Venous insufficiency including the evaluation of varicose ulceration. Carotid disease (transient ischemic attacks, stroke evaluation and risk of stroke evaluation). Screening for peripheral vascular occlusive disease and carotid atherosclerotic disease in the at risk population Ag diabetics, smokers and patients with a history of vascular disease.
